worth the journey, worth the queue, worth the hype.
Hi, I’m Alicia, Welcome to the world of Rebel Vending! Whether you’ve got here from one of those viral videos or maybe you’ve seen us in action at an event, I’m so grateful that you’re here to be part of this wild little journey.
Rebel Vending didn’t happen overnight. It started in 2018, when I set up a small fudge stall at local markets. Armed with my grandmother’s recipe, absolutely zero experience in markets or events, and no budget, it was simply something I could do while figuring out what came next after stepping away from a “proper” corporate career and the equestrian world I’d known for years.
Busy Christmas markets, setting up a gazebo on my own, throwing stock about, working long trading hours and still having a laugh with down to earth customers in whatever the weather was doing, after years in the equestrian world, it felt easy… and a lot more enjoyable than an air conditioned office.
Whilst I didn’t realise it then, those zero budget setups, long days, friendships, and moments at local markets were quietly building the foundation of what Rebel Vending is today.
While it’s still just getting started, that same mix of hard work and fun hasn’t changed and never will.
Through lockdown, Rebel Fudge thrived online, and events ticked along where they could. But by the end of 2023, things had shifted. If I wanted to keep trading at the events I loved, I needed something new, lower price point, less competition, more fun… and a bit bolder.
So in 2024, I took the leap.
I cobbled together a freshly squeezed lemonade stall and started pestering every organiser I’d booked with to let me switch. Miraculously none of them said no and the season was a huge success!
In April 2025, it was time to stop hiding and saddle up, this time, onto social media.
It felt non negotiable, but what happened next definitely wasn’t part of the plan. Within the first week, TikTok blew up. An army of enthusiasm poured in from every corner of the internet and gradually the queues that started forming at events were even bigger than the season before and I couldn’t be more grateful.
I’ll never forget the first person who told me they’d driven two hours just to try a lemonade and some Filthy Fruit… or the first person who said they’d come because of social media and then kept coming back again and again!
That’s when it really started to sink in.
This wasn’t just a fun weekend side hustle anymore. It wasn’t about getting out to events for fun, or just selling lemonade and chocolate strawberries. I’d always hoped it might turn into something more as I found my way through market, events, and festivals but this was the moment it really started to. It wasn’t just about bringing my crazy ideas to life any more. I had a responsibility to make it worth the journey, worth the queue, worth the hype, every single time.
And while I still don’t have an unlimited budget to bring all of my bigger ideas to life, (in fact, not really much of one at all) and definitely don’t have all my ducks in a row, I’m heading into 2026 with fresh enthusiasm and a real sense of responsibility.
So whilst right now, Rebel Vending might just look like another lemonade stall, another chocolate strawberry stall, or another fudge stall, I’m determined to build Rebel Vending into a street food brand that truly delivers… from the moment you place your order and watch it come together in front of you, to that very first bite or sip.
Because bringing people joy hasn’t got boring yet and I can’t help but think that maybe I’ve always been exactly where I was meant to be. Every quiet market day, every long event, every back breaking or hideously tedious job along the way… it’s all led to this.
And if, even just for a moment, amongst everything else going on in the world, Rebel Vending can bring a bit of joy, a bit of light relief, however you find us… then it’s doing exactly what it’s meant to.
So that’s the story so far.
It’s genuinely incredible to have you here!
Let’s see where this goes, shall we?
Alicia :)
